WFC: Toronto FC no strangers to international matches

WFC: Toronto's Danny Dichio vs. Real Madrid's Pepe

Toronto FC are hoping 2012 can be a year of firsts.

The club already made its first-ever trip to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League and supporters are now eager to see the team make its maiden voyage to the MLS Cup playoffs.

Winning an international exhibition can also come next on that list. They'll have their chance on July 21 against Liverpool FC in the World Football Challenge.

Of the seven all-time showcase matches played by TFC -- all held at BMO Field -- the team has collected four draws and three losses.

The Reds tied English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers, who visited in 2010, in their most recent match. Toronto's only other battle against an EPL team came in 2007 against Aston Villa.
