Red Bulls' Thierry Henry bags Player of the Month award

Thierry Henry, New York Red Bulls, points to the crowd after win over Montreal Impact.

Which player do you believe should have won the MLS Player of the Month award for March?

No one's been better in MLS so far this year than New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry.

That's the verdict of the North American Soccer Reporters, who voted the Frenchman as the Player of the Month for March.

The odds were in his favor after capturing two of the first four Player of the Week awards this season.

So just how important has he been? He's had a hand in eight of the Red Bulls' 10 goals scored thus far, including a total of five goals scored in his last two matches.

His first-ever MLS hat trick against the Montreal Impact last weekend launched him to the top of the MLS Golden Boot race.

No surprse, then, that he captured the majority of media votes for the first Player of the Month award for a Red Bulls player since October 2008.
