AMSTERDAM – Four Americans suited up for FA Cup quarterfinal replay action on Tuesday, highlighted by seven saves made to look easy by Tim Howard saves in Everton's 2-0 win at Sunderland.


With club and country mate Marcus Hahnemann serving as his bench understudy, the US No. 1 remained unbeaten in 10 career starts against the Black Cats. The Toffees' search for their sixth FA Cup title now moves to Wembley, where they will lock horns with archnemesis Liverpool on April 14 for a place in the final.


Elsewhere, Tim Ream worked 68 solid relief minutes in defensive midfield as Bolton bowed out with a 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur. Brad Friedel enjoyed his usual Cup breather from the dugout as Spurs set up a London derby semifinal date with Chelsea for April 15.
