Who wins: Colorado or Columbus?
Whew.
After a crazy final week of the season that saw four teams compete for one last, coveted playoff berth, the postseason picture is finally in focus.
FC Dallas will host the New York Red Bulls at Pizza Hut Park on Wednesday (9 pm ET, FOX Soccer, TSN2). The defending champion Colorado Rapids welcome the Columbus Crew in a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Semifinal on Thursday (10 pm ET, Direct Kick, TSN2).
FCD struggled down the stretch, finishing off the regular season with a 4-2 loss at San Jose, while the Red Bulls sealed a postseason berth with a dramatic victory over rivals Philadelphia in their final game.
The Rapids, meanwhile, came from behind to beat the Vancouver Whitecaps and secure home-field advantage for the Wild Card match. Columbus lost their last game to the Chicago Fire and, along with it, their top-three standing in the Eastern Conference.
But as the postseason proves year after year, regular-season results are not the best prognosticators for determining whether teams will succeed or fail in their quest for MLS Cup.
So which two teams will advance to the next round?
