The gamble on the teenager looked to have paid off early this season, with his explosive speed and electric skills wreaking havoc on MLS back lines from the start. Castillo is only now really getting back on track for FC Dallas after missing several weeks between recovering from injury and joining the Colombian Under-20 national team for the FIFA World Cup. With a little more MLS savvy and experience, time should prove to be Castillo’s best ally on his path to stardom.</p><p><strong>What the TDs and coaches say:</strong> “Exciting young player. He has some very interesting qualities … Tremendous athlete … He’s fast, good on the ball and great going at players … He has qualities to be a very good player in this league … Where he struggles a little bit is with the physicality of the league but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt with this age … MLS is a much bigger step from where he came from. It’s much slower and technical in Colombia. This game is fast-paced here and physical and for him at times he has a little bit of difficulty with that aspect … What is his best position?
