#13. Camilo Sanvezzo
Pos: F | Vancouver Whitecaps | Age: 23
With his only credentials being a golden boot in Malta and an unsuccessful stint in Korea, Camilo was far from a sure thing when he arrived in MLS. But despite playing in numerous positions for the Whitecaps under two different managers and with more than a few different strike partners, the diminutive Brazilian has proven successful with a formula of hard work and energy. And Camilo doesn’t fool around. He goes straight at goal and he has the skill and daring to be productive in the process, figuring among the Top 10 goal scorers in MLS.
What the TDs and coaches say: “A player who can change the game by himself … Good imagination. Can score goals and can create for others … Very busy and technically really good … Hard to play in the system he plays [in Vancouver]. At times he gets the freedom to create and at other times he doesn’t and that hurts him. He’s a player who would flourish if he played in a different style … If he dedicated himself more to going forward than defending, he’d be much more productive.”
