Of the 11 starters for Salvadoran side Isidro Metapán on Tuesday night against Honduran club Real Espana, nine were Salvadoran. The other two scored goals.
Honduran Ernesto Aquino turned the tables on his countrymates with a header off a corner kick in the eighth minute to give the visitors the lead.
Then, in the 57th minute, vetearn Brazilian Allan Kardeck, who joined this season, scored with a crafty chip after running onto a through ball from the midfield.
Real España pulled one back when former LA Galaxy striker Carlos Pavón slotted home a penalty in the 80th minute. It was his second attempt after his first soft shot missed. But the officials claimed Metapán goalkeeper Miguel Montes had come off his line early on the first attempt.
Metapán are now tied with Santos Laguna on points at the top of Group B.
Real España are searching for their first win in this year's CCL.
