The Sporting Kansas City braintrust will be down a man for the next few weeks, as the league announced on Tuesday that assistant coach John Pascarella has been suspended for three games following a postgame meltdown two weekends ago in Sporting’s 2-1 loss to Seattle.
Officially, Pascarella is suspended for comments and actions directed toward the officials of that match, in which Sporting KC Designated Player Omar Bravo was sent off for a two-footed tackle on Seattle’s Pat Noonan, followed by a brief onfield back-and-forth between the two veteran attackers.
Pascarella will miss this Wednesday’s game against Portland, followed by two more home games against D.C. United and FC Dallas.
