Beckham visits NYC hospital on behalf of Hope & Heroes

NEW YORK – All-Star David Beckham visited with patients at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital while in New York to participate in the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game.

The visit was on behalf of MLS W.O.R.K.S., Major League Soccer’s community outreach initiative, and facilitated by Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund, which supports the childhood cancer program. The MLS All-Stars take on Manchester United in the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 27 at Red Bull Arena (8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2, TeleFutura, and TSN).

Hope & Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund will also be the recipient of a $25,000 donation on behalf of MLS W.O.R.K.S.

Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund supports the medical treatment of children with cancer and their families. Hope & Heroes philanthropic beneficiary is the Herbert Irving Child & Adolescent Oncology Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. The Fund’s mission is to support and expand existing programs and therapies at the Center, develop new initiatives, and enhance the research that is vital to continuing the fight against pediatric cancer.
