FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas president Doug Quinn on Thursday reconfirmed his faith that a deal for the club's first-ever jersey sponsorship would be in place by the July 27 MLS All-Star Game.

“That’s still my timeline,” Quinn told MLSsoccer.com, reinforcing a projection he made in March. “[We’re] still hoping to have that deal done by the All-Star break. We’re in deep discussions with a couple of companies right now.”

Quinn also specified that one deal is closer to materializing compared to the others.

“One [company is] pretty far and those deals happen when they happen,” stated Quinn. “We’re out there taking swings and we’re having lots of conversations so my expectations are still All-Star.

The FCD chief executive did not disclose specific information regarding possible candidates to be showcased on the FC Dallas jersey. However, back in March, Quinn emphasized the importance that the club attached to the jersey front sponsorship.

“You have to remember that this is your hero brand — it’s an important company that is going to be your partner and they are going to be the face of your team,” Quinn said. “A lot of times clubs have a jersey sponsor that becomes the nickname of the team. So picking the right partner is important.”
