While most leagues in Europe are on summer hiatus, the Scandinavian circuits are in full swing and a handful of Canadians are seeing game action.

A pair of former Toronto FC goalkeepers were called upon for their respective teams over the weekend. Kenny Stamatopoulos and Tomer Chencinski both started in goal for their clubs, with Stamatopoulos earning a clean sheet for AIK, who won 2-0 over Malmo in the Swedish top tier.

Chencinski and his side VPS played to a 1-1 draw with Honka in the Finnish Veikkausliiga.

Also in Finland, IFK Mariehamn defeated Jaro by a score of 3-1 on Friday, with Mason Trafford going the full 90 minutes for IFK. Compatriot Luca Bellisomo was on the bench but did not feature in the match. IFK also played on Monday, losing 2-0 to FC Inter. Both Trafford and Bellisomo started for IFK in the loss.

The fourth Canuck in the Veikkausliiga, Riley O’Neill, returned from a lengthy injury spell and subbed in at the 80th minute for MyPa, who fell 2-0 to HJK of Helsinki.

Over in Norway, another former MLSer featured for his club, as Chris Pozniak went the distance for Haugesund in a 2-0 Tippeliga win over Viking Stavanger.
