Dynamo face quick turnaround after loss to Colorado

HOUSTON – After their second tough home loss of the season, the Houston Dynamo are looking at the schedule now as a blessing.

Houston have little time to dwell on the mistakes that cost them in a 2-1 loss to Colorado on Wednesday. They’re back at it on the road against Toronto FC on Saturday (7 pm ET, MatchDay Live), and the match is a welcome one for a Dynamo locker room that experienced its first loss since the season opener.

“It’s unfortunate we’ve lost two games at home and the fashion in which we did is frustrating, but it’s a situation where the best thing to do is get back on the field,” Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear said after Wednesday's game.

The trip to Toronto will present a challenge for the club, as they’ll face their third match in eight days. Despite an eagerness to get back into a game situation, the club will have to keep their physical ability in mind heading on the road for the first of two away matches.

“With an extra day playing last Friday we’ll see how it goes,” Kinnear said. “The weather’s been kind to us and we’ve shortened down practices a bit, so we’re preparing.”

With staying fit and sharp going hand in hand, the Dynamo are taking precautions to ensure that they are in top shape heading into the weekend match north of the border.

In addition to their roster management the Dynamo will have something at their disposal that all teams covet: depth. Having multiple players at a number of positions who can contribute offers Kinnear options ahead of the final leg of their three-game week.

“Dom’s excellent at rotating the guys and managing our practice schedule to watch how much work we do,” midfielder Lovel Palmer said. “We’re not worried. We have a lot of depth this season. We just need to go out and play, and whoever’s on the pitch for Houston in Orange will do well.”
