'Caps pass O'Brian White on to Sounders

A loss to San Jose on Saturday and O'Brian White and Toronto could face another missed playoff opportunity.

The Vancouver Whitecaps continued leveraging their Expansion Draft picks on Wednesday by sending former Toronto FC striker O'Brian White to the Seattle Sounders.

Picked in the 6th round of the Expansion Draft, the 24-year-old White moves to the Whitecaps' Pac Northwest rivals in exchange for allocation money.

"O'Brian is a forward with good pace and size" said head coach Sigi Schmid. "He adds another option for us in our desire to be a club that scores goals."

In two injury-riddled seasons with Toronto, White made 33 appearances, scoring four times. He notched two goals in nine appearances in 2010.
