CHESTER, Pa. — Brek Shea and Eric Lichaj, the only two players in the US camp without a cap, will most likely make their full international debuts when the United States take on Colombia at PPL Park on Tuesday, according to coach Bob Bradley.
"I think there's a good chance that both will get an opportunity to play tomorrow," the American coach said on Monday afternoon.
FC Dallas star Shea, who will be the first American born in the 1990s to wear the Red, White and Blue, trained with the US last week before returning to his club for their 2-2 draw with the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. Shea played only 30 minutes, leaving him fresh for Tuesday's affair against the South American side.
The former U-20 standout can line up at a number of positions including playing a high striker or left midfielder.
"[I'll play] anywhere I can get on the field with the full team," he told MLSsoccer.com after training on Monday.
Shea, who has five goals for FCD this season, will see some minutes but probably won't start.
[inline_node:316468]Lichaj, another versatile talent, usually patrols either of the wingback positions.
"I feel more comfortable on the right but I can play on the left," he said. "It doesn't really matter where I play."
The Aston Villa defender, who turns 22 on Nov. 17—the day the Americans play South Africa in Cape Town— has yet to see the field in an English Premier League match.
