Report: Ronaldinho rep to meet Galaxy?

Ronaldinho

Friday’s edition of the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the brother and agent for AC Milan’s Brazilian star Ronaldinho will be meeting with representatives from the Los Angeles Galaxy in the coming days.

There were rumors during the summer of a possible move to the Galaxy, but AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi personally intervened and claimed his star player would be at AC Milan for life.

The rumors began to swirl again after Ronaldinho was left out of the AC Milan squad for recent the UEFA Champions League clash against Ajax in Amsterdam.

Despite Berlusconi’s public statements about the player, the Italian club is yet to move forward with a contract renewal and the Brazilian’s current deal expires in June 2011.

La Gazzetta speculates that a move by Ronaldinho in January could open the door for the return of AC Milan fan favorite Kaká, who plays for Real Madrid.

The article gives a twofold rationale for a move by Ronaldinho. The first is tactical. The former World Cup star prefers to play on the left side of midfield and cut inside when necessary. However, that is also the preferred position of AC Milan’s other Brazilian winger, Robinho, a player in which AC Milan have invested a great deal.

The Los Angeles Galaxy declined to comment on the story.
