Wizards try to keep pace with Crew

Kurt Morsink and the Wizards have won eight of the last 11 meetings against the Columbus Crew.

right to Guevara, who turned it home while all alone in front of goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.
• If there was some question about the first goal, there was none about the second. After a foul set up a free kick some 20 yards straight out from goal, Guevara curled the ball perfectly over the bar and off the inside of the left-hand post, the second goal in as many matches directly from a free kick for TFC.
• It was the first time in Toronto FC club history a player had scored twice in one match and it led to the first three-game winning streak in club history. In the inaugural season for the Reds, they didn't win their third game until June 2.
• Wizards head coach Curt Onalfo made one change to the team that defeated the Chicago Fire 1-0 the previous Sunday. Ivan Trujillo returned to the starting lineup, replacing Scott Sealy in attack.
• Here's Onalfo's team (4-4-2): Kevin Hartman - Chance Myers, Jimmy Conrad, Tyson Wahl (Eloy Colombano 76), Michael Harrington - Jack Jewsbury, Kurt Morsink, Kerry Zavagnin (Carlos Marinelli 61), Roger Espinoza (Sasha Victorine 61) - Ivan Trujillo, Claudio Lopez. Substitutes Not Used: Aaron Hohlbein, Eric Kronberg, Jonathan Leathers, Scott Sealy
• "I thought at halftime we came in and regrouped, assessed what was going on and took a deep breath and started to play a little bit and do what we've been doing up to this point. It's unfortunate the half we played better we gave up two goals, as opposed to the half where they were pretty much all over us. A credit to Toronto -- they did well with their chances," K.C. captain Jimmy Conrad said.

• While the Wizards were aggrieved at the potential offside call on Guevara's first goal, there was also the chance to pull that goal back when Ivan Trujillo was put in alone on TFC 'keeper Greg Sutton, but his shot was turned aside.
• "We made an error in clearing the ball on what was probably a questionable offsides call as well, and Toronto capitalized on that," said Onalfo. "I kind of felt the momentum was shifting a bit in our favor, but ... the second [goal] put the nail in our coffin. We had a couple of very good opportunities today, and [if] you sneak one of those you suddenly get a bit of momentum. "
• Against Chicago the week before, the Wizards scored in the first four minutes then doggedly withstood a Fire onslaught. In Toronto, the early goal didn't come, but they felt they were in the match until the late goals.
• "Our possession I thought got even better and better and then we gave up a free kick in probably the most dangerous spot that you can give a free kick a very central location, 24 yards from goal so he can get it up and over the wall," said K.C. goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. "Amado's a huge addition to Toronto FC."
• The loss dropped the Wizards out of the top spot in the overall league table that they enjoyed after last weekend's action. It was an especially hard result given that the match was the second of six consecutive away games that the Wizards will play before returning to CommunityAmerica Ballpark on June 14.
• "Last year this would've affected us quite a bit," said Conrad. "But this year we've preached consistency ... and this is as good a test as any to see how we bounce back from this. For the most part I thought we did a pretty good job, kept the play in front of us quite a bit. [But] if you can't keep the ball, whether you're at home or on the road, you're going to have a long game."
