Wizards-Rapids time change

The Kansas City Wizards game this Saturday versus the Colorado Rapids at CommunityAmerica Ballpark has changed times. The game, which was originally scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (CT), will now be played at 4:00 p.m. (CT). With the Final 4 game featuring the University of Kansas tipping off in the evening, the Wizards organization is moving their kick-off time up three hours to accommodate sports fans.

"It is obvious that this is an important game for the city" Wizards President Robb Heineman said. "The ownership group, all of whom are entrenched in Kansas City, has made the decision to move the Wizards match versus the Rapids to 4 p.m. so that fans are able to experience both games," Wizards President Robb Heineman said. "Many of our supporters also have a vested interest in Kansas basketball, and we want them to enjoy two high-quality sporting events on Saturday."

All game elements will remain the same, except the Soccer 101 expo before the game is postponed to accommodate youth soccer going on throughout the metro. The game broadcast will be tape-delayed in English on Metro Sports and Spanish, TWC channel 5, at 7 p.m. The game can still be seen live on MLS Direct Kick and heard on English (1480 AM) and Spanish (1340 AM) radio at 4 p.m.

Both teams come into the match-up after impressive opening performances. Kansas City defeated 2007 Supporters' Shield winners D.C. United 2-0 on the strength of goals from newly signed forwards Claudio Lopez and Ivan Trujillo. Colorado defeated Los Angeles Galaxy 4-0 in front of a record crowd at the Rapid's second-year facility, Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Gates B and C will open at 2 p.m. and all gates open at 2:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets for Saturday's match are still available here. Please check www.kcwizards.com or call (913) 387-3400 for more details.
