Wizards participate in ABC's hit show 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition'; honor Jacobo family at May 12 game

The Kansas City Wizards honored the Jacobo family of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" at Saturday's match against FC Dallas. The North Kansas City family participated in the opening coin toss with Kevin Green, the builder who worked with the ABC show to construct a house in just seven days. In addition, the Wizards contributed 25% of a special Ticketmaster promotion toward paying off the Jacobo's large mortgage from their previous house.

Michelle and Jesus Jacobo, along with her father Raymond and their nine children, were chosen to receive a new house courtesy of Kevin Green Homes and ABC in early March. The children were sleeping in the basement hallway, while the parents slept in an unheated garage and Raymond slept on the living room floor.

The Wizards participated in the hit show on a variety of levels, including donating autographed jerseys and balls, adidas gear and other Wizards memorabilia. Wizards defender Tyson Wahl and forward Yura Movsisyan attended the filming of the show and will be leading a private soccer clinic for the Jacobo kids this summer. In addition, the Wizards gave the entire family season tickets for the 2007 season.

The extent of the Wizards involvement will be revealed when the show airs Sunday, May 13. Tune in and watch the Jacobo's story at 7 p.m. (CT).
