Wizards to host trick-or-treat festival

The Kansas City Wizards will host the first leg of a two-game, aggregate-goal playoff series against Chivas USA Saturday, October 27 at 7 p.m. CT at Arrowhead Stadium. The Wizards will provide a safe and fun trick-or-treat festival prior to the match. Families with children of all ages are encouraged to attend.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., vendors will set up inside Arrowhead Stadium with candy and other items for trick-or-treaters courtesy of M&I Bank. Children 12 and under wearing a Halloween costume will enter the match for free with the purchase of an adult ticket and be able to participate in the trick-or-treat festivities. Participants can pick up admission vouchers and trick-or-treat bags at tables located outside Wizards box offices.

Children in costumes will also be able to take part in the human tunnel on the field during pre-game. Soccer Celebration will not be set up outside the stadium, and Wizards regular-season award winners will be recognized prior to the match.

With a 2-0 victory Saturday over FC Dallas and Chicago's win over Los Angeles Sunday, the Kansas City Wizards clinched the 8th overall seed in the 2007 MLS Playoffs. As the 5th team from the East, the Wizards switched brackets and now compete against the three playoff teams from the West. Kansas City will face Chivas USA in the opening round of the playoffs, traveling to the Home Depot Center Saturday, November 3 (kickoff at 9:30 p.m. CT live on Metro Sports) for the second match of the series. The series winner will then face the winner of FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo in a one-game conference final.

Tiebreaker procedure:

The team that scores the most goals in a home-and-home Conference Semifinal series advances to the single-game Conference Championship. If the teams are tied after 180 minutes, a 30-minute extra time period (two 15-minute halves) will be played. If the teams remain tied after that period, a penalty-kick tiebreaker will determine the team that advances. The same tiebreaking procedures are used if a Conference Championship is tied after 90 minutes.
