The Kansas City Wizards entered day two of spring training ready to capitalize on their strengths after a promising start on Saturday. Day two focused on technical work and improving possession skills, and ended with a scrimmage that gave all of the players a chance to work on their communication skills.

"Overall we have a quiet group, so today we wanted to get them all to be more vocal and communicative with each other," Kansas City Wizards Assistant Coach Kris Kelderman said. "I'm pleased with their progress, and as the guys get more comfortable with their role on the field, communication will improve."

The coaching staff also received the players' data from workouts on Saturday, and all of the team is in great shape as they enter the preseason.

"I'm very pleased with the players' fitness levels, and I'm thrilled with how well they have responded to the coaching staff," Kansas City Wizards Head Coach Curt Onalfo said. "The veteran players really stepped it up and were a great example of what good leadership looks like."

Onalfo also said that the recent draft picks are competitive and have been showcasing their talent and strengths at camp.

"I'm very optimistic about the players we drafted," Onalfo said. "I think they have the potential to be good players in Kansas City and throughout Major League Soccer."

The team will continue preseason training tomorrow at the Arrowhead indoor facility.
