The Kansas City Wizards are scheduled to return from preseason training in Bradenton, Fla. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, and will leave for their second leg of preseason training in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Monday, March 5. While the Wizards are in Kansas City, they will practice at the Arrowhead Indoor Training Facility on Sunday, March 4 and Monday, March 5. Practices are open to the media, and media members are encouraged to take advantage of the only two days Wizards players will be available for interviews before they depart for 2 ½ weeks.
The Wizards will leave for Argentina on Monday evening and will return March 22. While in Argentina, the team will train and play four exhibition matches against various local teams. The dates of the matches are listed below, and opponents will be announced at a later date.
Several Kansas City Wizards players will be making appearances around the city while they are in town. Kerry Zavagnin, Kevin Hartman and Nick Garcia will be participating in the Women's Expo at the Overland Park International Trade Center on W. 115th St. The Wizards will have a booth set up from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
In addition to raffles and giveaways, Zavagnin will be signing autographs from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Garcia will be available for autographs from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, Hartman will be at the booth from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
