Wizards 1, Crew 0 -- quote sheet

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 1, COLUMBUS CREW 0

COLUMBUS CREW HEAD COACH SIGI SCHMID:

On the game:
"It was a game that we didn't deserve to lose. I thought over the 90 minutes I thought we were the better team. I am very, very proud of our team because I thought we fought, I thought we battled. I thought we created chances, I thought we were pushing to equalize the game at the end. I thought we showed a lot of fight and spirit."

COLUMBUS CREW MIDFIELDER SEBASTIAN ROZENTAL

On the defeat:
"It is impossible to be happy when you lose a game, especially a game like this. We are playing a team that is first in our conference and I think we played much better than them. I think we deserved at least a draw. That is why we can't be happy about the game. We have to try and continue like this because I think we are improving. The result was not there but I think we have to continue working like this because this is the right and winning will come for sure."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD CAOCH BOB GANSLER

On the game:
"It was a good game for the fans, it was good stuff. There was a lot of energy and emotion. Columbus is playing well, Coach [Sigi] Schmid is a very good practitioner of his art and he has them playing well in a very short period of time. We piddled one away last week so all week we were talking about it is OK to lose, but we have got to learn the lessons and concentrate. It is a 90 minute-plus kind of endeavor out there and I think we made some headway toward that. So I congratulate my guys for a good week by putting a little exclamation point on it with three points on the road."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS FORWARD JOSH WOLFF

On getting the victory:
"It took a while. All in all a good fight. In the second half we kind of grinded it out a bit. Sasha did well to find me when I was coming late at the far post."
