HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo welcome Westside Soccer Club as the newest Student of the Game partner club.

The Dynamo Student of the Game program was established in an effort to provide Houston and surrounding youth soccer leagues with an education-based curriculum that will further enhance youth players, coaches and parents' soccer knowledge and appreciation for the game. The Dynamo program motivates and educates by providing partner leagues with exclusive access to the Dynamo coaches and players through coaching clinics and appearances, among other benefits.

"Westside Soccer Club is excited to be a partner with the Dynamo in the Student of the Game program", said Mike Harwell Vice President of Westside Soccer Club. "Through the Dynamo's creative efforts, the players and coaches within Westside SC have a tremendous opportunity to enhance their overall soccer experience and we look forward to the interaction that the Dynamo coaches and players will have within our club", said Harwell.

The Student of the Game program is designed to provide youth soccer clubs in South Texas with a series of educational, motivational and inspirational benefits to assist players but also coaches and parents. The recruitment and retention of parent volunteers remains a challenge for most youth soccer organizations. The "Student of the Game" program provides clubs with various tools aimed at assisting in this area. One aspect of the program is a special Club-Night-Out at Robertson Stadium for a Dynamo home game. The purpose of this outing is to give youth players the opportunity to watch a game live, learn from professionals and provide parents an opportunity to meet each other in a social setting. The "Club Night Out" is the ultimate team-building event that will allow registered soccer players from Westside Soccer Club an opportunity to come out to a Houston Dynamo home game.

"Westside Soccer Club has been supportive of us since day one", said Dynamo President & General Manager Oliver Luck. "Through this partnership and their continued support, the Dynamo will be able to give more back to the players, coaches, and parents of Westside Soccer Club" said Luck.

" We are excited to have the opportunity to work with Westside Soccer Club as a Student of the Game partner. This organization has demonstrated a strong history of operating a very successful youth organization and an extremely competitive tournament. Several other youth soccer organizations in the area are currently considering the Student of the Game program. At the current rate of interest, this program will be fully subscribed before kick-off of the 2007 MLS season." said Dynamo, Sr. VP Sales and Marketing, Steven N. Powell.
