The top four teams in each conference make the MLS Cup Playoffs. The teams in second through sixth place in the East are within eight points of each other.
The Crew's next three games are against teams from the Eastern Conference, including a return match vs. New England on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at Crew Stadium. JON BUSCH, CREW SET TO DELIVER PASSBACK EQUIPMENT TO COLUMBUS DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION AND PARKS ON TUESDAY
A Crew contingent led by goalkeeper Jon Busch will deliver the new and gently used equipment the club has collected this year on behalf of the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback program to the Columbus Department of Recreation and Parks on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 1 p.m. Busch serves as a local spokesperson for the program, which is a joint effort between the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Eurosport and Major League Soccer and its teams to help meet the soccer uniform and equipment needs of all communities, regardless of income, gender or location. Nearly 500 pieces of equipment will be dropped off Tuesday at the Recreation & Parks warehouse at 460 West Whittier Street.
NGWENYA TO MISS NEW ENGLAND MATCH DUE TO RED CARD
The Crew's Joseph Ngwenya will miss Saturday's home game vs. New England due to his red card in Sunday's 1-0 loss at New England. Ngwenya received the red card for pushing New England's Andy Dorman midway through the second half. He will be eligible to return for the Sept. 9 game.
POST-GAME PARTY AT UGLY TUNA SALOONA, IN SOUTH CAMPUS GATEWAY, SET FOR SATURDAY NIGHT
Following the Crew's match against New England on Saturday, Sept. 2, The Crew and South Campus Gateway will host a Post-Game Party at The Ugly Tuna Saloona (1546 N. High Street). Crew players Duncan Oughton and Jason Garey will make a special appearance to sign autographs and talk with fans. South Campus Gateway is the "Official Post-Game Party Headquarters of the Columbus Crew."
CREW SWITCHES START TIME FOR SEPT. 9 GAME TO 6 P.M.,
WILL HOST OSU-TEXAS VIEWING PARTY AT 8 P.M. FOLLOWING CREW GAME
The Crew announced that it has switched the game-time for its Sept. 9 home game vs. the Chicago Fire from 7:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. (ET). The game-time switch will allow Crew Stadium to remain open and host a viewing party for the Ohio State-Texas college football game that kicks off at 8 p.m.
Ohio State is ranked No. 1 in both the preseason USA Today and Associated Press polls, while Texas is ranked No. 2 by USA Today and No. 3 by Associated Press. The game is a nationally televised game on ABC and will be shown on the Crew Stadium video board.
Former Ohio State football players will be in attendance and will sign autographs prior to the Crew game on The Crew Kicker Plaza.

FORMER OHIO STATE FOOTBALL PLAYERS TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS PRIOR TO SEPT. 9 GAME
As part of the festivities for the Sept. 9 game that will include a viewing party of the Ohio State-Texas college football game, five former Ohio State football players will sign autographs in the Crew Kicker Plaza prior to The Crew's game. The former players that will be on hand include Dimitrious Stanley, Ahmed Plummer, Damon Moore, Maurice Hall and Gary Berry.
