GALAXY RETURN TO THE HOME DEPOT CENTER FOR THURSDAY'S HONDA SUPERLCLASICO AND SUNDAY MATCH-UP VS. D.C. UNITED:
After a two-game road trip that saw the Galaxy extend its losing streak to six games, the Galaxy returns home for a special Thursday night edition of the Honda Super Clasico against fellow L.A. rival Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center at 7:00 p.m. presented by Herbalife. Galaxy season ticket holders and fans buying tickets on the East Sideline through the Galaxy front office will receive a limited edition commemorative Galaxy t-shirt at the game and all fans will receive a fanbana courtesy of Herbalife. Galaxy fans can also purchase the ESPNZone Fan Pack, with four reserved seats in camera view, $20 worth of ESPNZone game cards for ESPNZone Anaheim, cheer sticks, entry into a raffle for a free trip to MLS Cup 2006, and more. The Galaxy - Chivas USA game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and CA$H 1700 AM (English) and KMXE 830 AM (Spanish).

On Sunday, June 11 the Galaxy host phenom Freddy Adu and the top team in MLS, D.C. United at 5:00 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. The match will be broadcast live on FSN West and CA$H 1700 AM (English) and KMXE 830 AM (Spanish). The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive bandanas courtesy of Sierra Mist.

GALAXY TO "DASH FOR THE HUNGRY" ON JUNE 7: The Los Angeles Galaxy announced that the team will "Dash For The Hungry" on Wednesday, June 7 at the Albertson's in Gardena to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Galaxy players Todd Dunivant, Herculez Gomez, Ugo Ihemelu and Kevin Hartman will be in attendance to shop the aisles for the L.A. Food Bank as well as sign autographs and pose for pictures from 1:00 -2:30 p.m. at Albertson's Store #6108 at 1735 Artesia Boulevard.


GALAXY DRIVE SERIES - FOOD DRIVE: As part of the Galaxy Drive Series and in support of National Hunger Awareness Month, the Galaxy will be hosting a Food Drive on Thursday, June 8 benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Galaxy fans and the general public are asked to donate four canned food items or $5.00 to the L.A. Regional Food Bank prior to the Galaxy - Chivas USA match. All donors will receive a Galaxy Drive Series Voucher for $5.00 off the gate price of a Galaxy ticket for select games, a Galaxy Luggage Tag and will be entered into a drawing for a soccer ball signed by members of the 2006 Galaxy team. GALAXY JERSEY-OFF-THE-BACK AUCTION ON JUNE 8TH: The Galaxy Foundation will host the team's eighth annual Jersey-Off-the-Back Auction during the Galaxy vs. Chivas USA game on Thursday, June 8th at The Home Center on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills.The Jersey-Off-the-Back Auction gives fans the rare opportunity to bid on an authentic game-worn jersey from one of the Galaxy's starting eleven players. Fans can place bids at the Galaxy Foundation booth beginning at 5:30 p.m. through the end of half-time. All bidders must report back to the Galaxy Foundation booth by the end of half-time. MAKE YOUR GALAXY FANTASY COME TRUE: The Los Angeles Galaxy are proud to announce the second annual Galaxy youth fantasy camp at the Mecca of soccer in the U.S. The Home Depot Center. The first camp session runs from July 17 - July 21 and the second session runs from August 14 - August 18. The camp runs from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m and the cost is $495 per camper. The fantasy soccer camp is geared towards youth soccer that first and foremost want to have FUN and players who want to learn to play their best while learning what it is like to be a Galaxy player. Adults can get into the game too, so join us for the second annual Galaxy Adult Soccer Fantasy Camp, where you will learn what it is like to train like a professional soccer player. GALAXY HOST SUMMER BLOW-OUT EQUIPMENT SALE: The Galaxy Foundation will host a summer blow-out equipment sale prior to the June 11 Galaxy vs. D.C. United game at 5:00 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. Beginning at 3:30 p.m., fans can shop for official Galaxy gear - including shirts, jerseys, shorts, socks, sweat suits, jackets and other authentic Galaxy equipment. The summer sale runs through half time at the Galaxy Foundation booth.


GALAXY ANNOUNCE INAGURAL GROUP LEADER CLUB: The Los Angeles Galaxy announced the club's first ever Group Leader Club, where individuals who organize large groups to attend Galaxy home games will become automatically enrolled in the club and eligible to earn incredible benefits. Group Leaders can be a part of the inaugural Galaxy Group Leader Club by bringing 20 or more people to a 2006 Galaxy regular season home game. By organizing a group of 20 people or more, Group Leaders automatically are enrolled as a Gold Level Member. GALAXY FALL 3-1 TO SELECT STARS OF IRAN IN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION: The L.A. Galaxy dropped a 3-1 decision to the Select Stars of Iran in an international exhibition on Sunday, June 4 at Drake Stadium on the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas played in the match and scored the club's lone goal on a header. The match was the first-ever game between the MLS club and a selection of international players from Iran.


L.A. TO FACE CRYSTAL PALACE FC JULY 19 IN RICHMOND, VA: The Los Angeles Galaxy will take on English club Crystal Palace FC on Wednesday, July 19 at the University of Richmond at 7:30 p.m. in Richmond, Virginia. The Galaxy will face an English team for just the second time in club history and the first time since 1997, when Los Angeles tied Aston Villa 1-1. Crystal Palace was founded in 1905 and finished the 2006 season in sixth place in the Coca-Cola League Championship, the second-highest level of English soccer, with a 21-13-12 record. Crystal Palace reached the championship play-off and nearly qualified for promotion back to the Premiership before falling 3-0 on aggregate to Watford in the semifinals. The Galaxy are expected to face a tough Crystal Palace team that boasts Republic of Ireland international Clinton Morrison (13 goals in 2006), Australian National Team defender Tony Popovic and English Under-21 National Team midfielder Ben Watson.


SCORELESS STREAK COMES TO AN END: The Galaxy thankfully saw its club record 525 minute scoreless streak come to an end on June 3 in Houston when forward John Wolyniec headed in a Todd Dunivant cross in the 45th minute The Galaxy shattered the old team record of 319 minutes without a goal that was set in 1997. The Galaxy's 525 minute scoreless streak now stands as the third longest in MLS history. Prior to Wolyniec's goal on June 3, the Galaxy last score a goal on April 29 when Herculez Gomez scored in the 60th minute against Real Salt Lake.


SIX IN A ROW: The Galaxy is in the midst of a six-game losing streak, setting a new club record for most losses in a row. The Galaxy's 2-1 loss to Houston on June 3 broke the record, as the team lost five straight matches from August 11 - August 28 in 1996. This season, the Galaxy last experience that winning feeling on April 29 following a 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake.


SHUTOUT CITY: The Galaxy has been shutout seven times so far in 2006, as the team nears the Los Angeles club record for most times being shutout in a season. In 2000 and 2003 the Galaxy was shutout eight times.


HOME SWEET HOME?: For the first time in club history, the Galaxy has started the season winless at home in its first five games. The Galaxy is 0-4-1 at The Home Depot Center in 2006. The most losses at home by a Galaxy team were set in 1997, when L.A. went 10-6-0 at the Rose Bowl.


VERIS GOES DOWN: Galaxy rookie defender Kyle Veris, who had started the past six matches in defense for the club, suffered a severely sprained MCL in his left knee in the second half of the Galaxy's 1-0 loss in Colorado on May 31. Veris was sent back to Los Angeles for tests following the game and did not play with the team in Houston.


WOLYNIEC'S FIRST: John Wolyniec's first goal for the Galaxy was a big one, as he broke the club's 525 minute scoreless streak with a strong header past Houston goalkeeper Pat Onstad just moments before halftime on June 3. The goal was the first for Wolyniec of 2006 and his first strike since September 3, 2005. Wolyniec has now scored a goal for four MLS teams in his eight-year career. Finding the back of the net for New York, Chicago, Columbus and the Galaxy.


MARTINO HELPS OUT: Los Angeles midfielder Kyle Martino registered his first assist as a member of the Galaxy on June 3 against Houston, helping out on Wolyniec's goal in the 45th minute. It was the 20thh assist of Martino's career and first of 2006.


A DEBUT FOR KIRK: Galaxy forward Quavas Kirk made his MLS debut on June 3 when he entered as a substitute in the second half and played the final nine minutes of the Galaxy's 2-1 loss. Kirk was with the Galaxy in 2005 but did not see any action.


GALAXY DEPORTIVO BREAKS DOWN ALL THE ACTION SATURDAY: Galaxy Deportivo, The weekly, half-hour Spanish language television show devoted to the Los Angeles Galaxy, can be seen this Saturday, June 10 at 3:30 p.m. on KWHY - Channel 22. Galaxy Deportivo, hosted by Los Angeles area personality Elmer Polanco, can be seen at the same time each and every Saturday on Channel 22.
