Weekly update: Salt Lake skirmish

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Dynamo captured one of three remaining Western Conference Playoff spots on Saturday, defeating D.C. United, 1-0.

The game between both teams was an even contest until the 86th minute. It was then that Brad Davis put a cross from the left side of the field, which was deflected by fellow Dynamo Paul Dalglish inside the box. In spite of the deflection, Brian Ching was able to score the only goal of the game with a stunning bicycle kick that United Goalkeeper Troy Perkins simply could not stop.

With the victory, the first for the team in its last three games, Houston (11-8-11) recaptures the second spot in the Western Conference, only two points ahead of Chivas USA and five points behind conference leader FC Dallas.
