COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Crew travels to New England to take on the Revolution Saturday (June 16) at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Columbus (1-4-5, 8 pts.) is coming off a 2-1 setback against defending MLS Cup-champion Houston on Sunday, while New England (5-2-3, 18 pts.) had a bye last weekend, having most recently played Real Salt Lake to a 0-0 tie at home on June 2.


Saturday's match, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m., will be televised live nationally on Fox Soccer Channel. The game can be heard live in English on The Brew @ 105.7 and on-line on TheCrew.com and MLSNet.com, with Dwight Burgess behind the microphone, as well as in Spanish on Radio Sol WXOL 1550-AM.


The Crew and Revolution meet for the second of three times this season and for the first of two at Gillette Stadium in a match that will follow a pair of CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals. The teams played to a 2-2 tie in Columbus on April 19, with Kei Kamara scoring the tying goal for the Crew in the 86th minute. Ned Grabavoy scored the first Columbus goal, while Andy Dorman and Taylor Twellman connected for New England.


In Sunday's game vs. Houston, Alejandro Moreno scored his first goal for the Crew, against the team from which he was acquired on May 9, while Guillermo Barros Schelotto tallied his third assist of the season. Chad Marshall and Tim Ward made their first starts of the season in the game.

HEJDUK AND U.S. QUALIFY FOR GOLD CUP QUARTERFINALS

The U.S. Men's National Team kicked off its 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup title defense with two wins in their first two Group B matches. On Thursday (June 7), the MNT defeated Guatemala, 1-0, followed by a 2-0 victory against Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday (June 9), both at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The six points from the two wins ensure that the U.S. will finish at least as one of the two best third-place teams in the first round, and will move on to the tournament quarterfinals. Following the second match, the U.S. boarded a plane for Boston, where it will face El Salvador in its third and final first round game tonight (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. Fans can follow all the action live on Fox Soccer Channel, Telefutura and ussoccer.com's MatchTracker. Crew defender Frankie Hejduk earned his 73rd cap and played the full 90 minutes vs. Guatemala and did not see action vs. T&T. The U.S. will play it quarterfinal match at Gillette Stadium prior to the Crew Revs game on Saturday.


FIFTH ANNUAL COPA VICTORIA TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF SATURDAY AT CREW TRAINING CENTER AT OBETZ

The Crew's fifth annual Copa Victoria adult Hispanic soccer tournament, supported by Roush Honda, Budweiser and adidas, kicks off this weekend. The 24-team, single-elimination tournament begins on Saturday (June 16) at the Crew Training Center at Obetz and concludes with the championship game at Crew Stadium prior to the Crew's game vs. D.C. United on Saturday, Aug. 18. Additional tournament match days are scheduled for June 23, July 7, July 14, July 28 and Aug. 4 at the Crew Training Center, which is located at 4153 Alum Creek Drive in Obetz. All matches are free and open to the public. On Saturday, May 26, the Crew and representatives from participating leagues held the official tournament draw in the Stadium Club at Crew Stadium. Team managers and all 480 players from the 24 participating teams were invited to attend the unveiling of the tournament bracket, and were later treated to the Crew's game against Toronto FC along with $10 in food vouchers compliments of Roush Honda, Budweiser and adidas. Tournament standings, pairings, rules and information will be posted on the Crew's official Web site, www.thecrew.com, and in other print media. The winner of the tournament will be awarded the championship trophy at halftime of the Aug. 18 Crew game.


GRANGE INSURANCE OHIO NORTH-SOUTH FOOTBALL CLASSIC IS SATURDAY AT CREW STADIUM

Sixty-eight of the best high-school football players in Ohio will take the field June 16 when the Grange Insurance Ohio North-South Classic is played at Columbus Crew Stadium, where the game has been played since 2001. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. As the longest running high-school football all-star game in the nation, the 62nd Annual Grange Insurance Ohio North-South Classic is widely recognized as the leading all-star game in the Midwest and among the best in the country. This year, the game will again feature most of the top graduating high-school football players in Ohio. Ohio State recruits Jermale Hines, Nate Oliver, Rocco Pentello, Solomon Thomas and Devon Torrence are among the players in this year's game. In all, 13 players in this year's game will play football next year at Big Ten Conference schools, while about 40 of the 68 will play Division I football next year. Tickets for the Grange Insurance Ohio North-South Classic are $10 and are available at the door or in advance by calling Crew Stadium at 614-447-CREW. Proceeds from the Grange Insurance Ohio North-South Classic benefit the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association's Scholarship Program.


TOP NHL DRAFT PROSPECTS TO ATTEND JUNE 20 CREW GAME

In conjunction with the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, which is being held in Columbus from June 22-23, the top prospects in the draft will attend the Crew's game vs. the Kansas City Wizards at Crew Stadium on Wednesday, June 20. They will sign autographs pregame on the Crew Kicker Plaza from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Blue Jackets goaltender and Pascal Leclaire will toss the coin prior to the game. Blue Jackets mascot Stinger will also be on hand, along with the Blue Jackets' Breakaway Tour inflatables and border patrol rink for street hockey games.


FOUR CREW PLAYERS TO VISIT PATIENTS AT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL WEDNESDAY

Alejandro Moreno, Robbie Rogers, Danny Szetela and Ricardo Virtuoso are scheduled to visit with patients at Children's Hospital this Wednesday, June 13, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.


CREW'S U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION PASSBACK NIGHT IS SATURDAY, JUNE 30
The U.S. Soccer Foundation, in partnership with the Crew, MLS and Eurosport, will be collecting new and gently used soccer equipment at Crew Stadium on June 30 through its Passback program. The equipment collected will then be distributed within our community, to the Kids Inner-City Development Soccer (K.I.D.S.) League, so that others may enjoy the wonderful sport of soccer. Eurosport will be awarding a $200 gift certificate to the team or individual donating the most equipment and fans are encouraged to gather up those jerseys, shin guards, shoes, socks and soccer balls and bring them to the Crew's 8 p.m. game vs. the New York Red Bulls that night to "Share the equipment. Share the Game!" Crew defender Jed Zayner serves as the local Passback spokesperson.


DON'T MISS 'CREW CORNER' THURSDAYS AT 6 and 6:30 p.m. ON CSN

The Columbus Sports Network (CSN) produces and airs a weekly magazine show dedicated solely to the Crew, called 'Crew Corner.' Hosted by Dionne Miller, the 30-minute program is refreshed each week with compelling content that is unique and dynamic, including "behind the scenes" perspectives and profiles about players, coaches and team officials; glimpses into the teams' participation in a variety of community and charitable activities; and game and league highlights. Each episode of 'Crew Corner' will air first on Thursdays at 6 p.m., and be replayed immediately afterward at 6:30 p.m. In addition, every show will be replayed repeatedly at different times throughout the following seven days to make it conveniently available to fans.
