Immediately following, at 6:30 p.m. PT, FC Barcelona, the reigning Spanish league champions and recent winners of the UEFA Champions League, take on Chivas USA's sister team Chivas de Guadalajara. Ronaldinho, Messi, Márquez and Eto'o will be among the stars that will face the current Copa Libertadores semifinalists. The celebration continues the following week as Chivas USA and its charitable foundation, the 'Fundación Chivas de Corazon USA,' will hold the 100-Hour Soccer Game, the longest on record in the United States, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Club Deportivo Guadalajara.

SPECIAL 100-HOUR SOCCER GAME: Chivas USA, its 'Fundación Chivas de Corazón USA' and the City of Bell Gardens will kick off the 100-Hour Soccer Game, the longest on record in the United States, featuring teams from Chivas and the Rest of the World, that will commemorate the 100 year history of Club Deportivo Guadalajara. The game, which at 100 hours of nonstop soccer will be the longest on record in the United States, will take place at the new Bell Gardens Sports Center, in the city of Bell Gardens, California, from Wednesday, August 9 at 1:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m. Participation is free and is open to teams of players between 8 and 100 years of age. BORNSTEIN IN RUNNING FOR GOAL OF THE WEEK: Jonathan Bornstein is a nominee for the MLS Goal of the Week for the second consecutive week, this time for a sparkling 20-yard volley into the top corner of the net in Chivas USA's 3-3 draw with Real Salt Lake on July 26. The goal was Bornstein's fourth of the season, each of which has come in the month of July. Fans can vote for Bornstein's phenomenal strike by logging on to MLSnet.com by Wednesday. The rookie is currently leading Chivas USA in minutes played, having been on the field for all but one minute this season, and has scored goals playing in defense, midfield and as a forward.

GUADALAJARA UPDATE: Club Deportivo Guadalajara will arrive in Los Angeles at 7:00 p.m. PT on Friday in advance of Sunday's match with Barcelona, and will be training Saturday morning in a location to be determined. Chivas will be staying in the Regent Beverly Hilton Wilshire. The Red-and-Whites will be in Brazil on Wednesday for a huge match, as they try to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the Copa Libertadores semi-final second leg against São Paulo. Earlier in this edition of the Copa Libertadores, Chivas came away with a 2-1 win in São Paulo, a result that would be good enough this time to send the red and white through to the final.
