Weekly update: Playoff push continues

After winning their last three matches, the LA Galaxy returns to Southern California for a week of training before heading back on the road for an end of the week Western Conference match up. The Galaxy will take on the Houston Dynamo on Sunday, October 7 at Robertson Stadium (FSN West and Telefutura) and will look to extend their winning streak to four games.

Galaxy Team Notes

THREE STRAIGHT: In defeating the Columbus Crew 2-1 on Sunday, September, 30 at Crew Stadium, the Los Angeles Galaxy have made their playoffs hopes a reality by registering three straight victories. With four matches still to be played in the regular season, the club finds it self just six points away from the last 2007 MLS Cup Playoffs spot, now owned by the Chicago Fire.


Prior to Sunday's match the Galaxy defeated FC Dallas 2-1 at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, September 23; before beating the Kansas City Wizards at Arrowhead Stadium 1-0 on Thursday, September 27.


ROBERTS REGISTERS FIRST GOAL: Los Angeles Galaxy defender Troy Roberts registered his first career goal in the club's 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew, on Sunday, September 30 at Crew Stadium. After battling for a deflected free kick by Landon Donovan in the box, Roberts' tapped in the loose ball for an unassisted equalizing goal in the 13th minute.

CLOTHING DRIVE: Join the LA Galaxy and Infinity Insurance as they host the final installment of the Galaxy Drive Series on Saturday, October 13, where fans can donate new or gently used coats and clothing for those in need. Fans who participate in the donation drive will receive an LA Galaxy/Infinity Galaxy Drive Series License Plate Frame.


MEDIA PARKING AT TRAINING: All media members are asked to enter through Gate D, off Victoria Blvd., and to park in Lot 17 when attending Galaxy training sessions. Members of the media who park in Lot 6 during training sessions may be ticketed now that school is back in session at California State University - Dominguez Hills.
