Jimmy Conrad Show Live Wednesday

Kansas City Wizards defender Jimmy Conrad and voice of the Wizards Sean Wheelock will co-host the Jimmy Conrad Show live from the Plaza 810 Zone Wednesday. The show, broadcast live at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN Radio 97.3, will feature Wizards defender Jack Jewsbury and forward Taylor Twellman of the New England Revolution.

Wheelock, Conrad and Jewsbury will discuss the Wizards fast start, Jewsbury's emergence as the team's first-choice right back and Saturday's match-up with first-place New England.

Catch the show on 97.3 FM or streamed live at kcwizards.com.

Wizards Weekly on Metro Sports

Wizards Weekly, the official Kansas City Wizards weekly highlight show, broadcast on Metro Sports Thursday at 11:30 p.m., Friday and 4 p.m. and again Saturday at 11:30 a.m., will feature Head Coach Curt Onalfo and forward Eddie Johnson this week.

Onalfo and show host Brad Porter will discuss the previous match against the Colorado Rapids and the upcoming match-up against the New England Revolution.

Johnson makes his first appearance on Wizards Weekly this year. He is off to a fast start, already scoring three goals and three assists. He is currently tied for sixth in MLS in goals and third in assists. He leads the Wizards in both categories. Johnson has already matched his career high for assists, which he set in 2004 for FC Dallas. Johnson was named MLS Player of the Week in week two for his one goal, two-assist performance at D.C. United April 14. He was also named MLS Player of the Month in April after recording three goals, all of which were game-winners, and two assists in four matches.

Henderson Honored in Colorado

Wizards Assistant Coach Chris Henderson returned to Colorado Saturday to help coach against his former team for the first time. Henderson, a veteran of 11 MLS seasons and 317 career games, played in Colorado for parts of seven seasons, playing 178 games for the Rapids. He scored 31 goals and recorded 53 assists for Colorado. He still ranks first in Rapids history in Games Played, Minutes Played and Assists. Henderson joined the Wizards coaching staff this off-season after retiring from Red Bull New York following the 2006 season.

The Rapids held a special ceremony honoring Henderson at halftime of Saturday night's match, as he became only the third player ever inducted into the Colorado Rapids Gallery of Honor. The first 5,000 fans into the stadium on Saturday received a FREE commemorative Chris Henderson mini-poster honoring his Gallery of Honor induction.

Lamar Hunt Charity Auction Ongoing

Jerseys from 18 Kansas City Wizards and 11 FC Dallas players are still available for bids starting as low as $150. Jerseys from players who started the match May 12 start at $250.

Portions of the funds raised will be donated to the following charity organizations:

  • South Central Community Foundation's "Greensburg Future Fund," benefiting those that lost their homes in the devastating tornado that hit the south-central Kansas town of Greensburg May 7.
  • The Jacobo family, benefiting the family that was featured on the May 13th Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Kansas City.
  • The Kansas City Wizards Tickets for Troops program. Money raised will allow the Wizards to donate free tickets to home matches to area military personnel.
  • The Kansas City Wizards Kicks for Kids program. Money raised will allow the Wizards to donate free tickets to underprivileged youth that may not otherwise be able to attend a Kansas City match.
  • The Jose Luis Burciaga Jr. Foundation. Money raised on the sale of Burciaga's jersey will be donated to his foundation to help in the goal of improving the lives of underprivileged youth.

The auction ends June 4, 2007. All uniforms are autographed by the player who wore the jersey.
