Galaxy Team Notes
FOUR IN A ROW FOR LA: For the first time this season, the Galaxy have won four straight contests after coming from behind to defeat the Houston Dynamo 2-1 at Robertson Stadium on Sunday. This current winning streak is the Galaxy's first four-game streak since April 9-May 8, 2005 when they claimed home wins over Real Salt Lake, Chivas USA, FC Dallas and Colorado. Unlike that streak, three of LA's wins in this current run have come on the road and the Galaxy have surrendered the first goal of the game in three of the last four contests where as they never trailed in their previous four-game winning streak.

If the Galaxy can knock off Toronto at home on Saturday, it will give LA their first five-game winning streak since 1998.

THE POSTSEASON PICTURE: With three games remaining in the MLS regular season, the Galaxy hold their playoff destiny in their own hands, knowing that three wins in the next three games will see the Galaxy return to the postseason for the first time since winning the MLS Cup in 2005. LA is currently seven points behind seventh place Kansas City and six points behind eighth place Chicago for the two playoff spots that are still up for grabs, with a game in hand on each. The Galaxy also have a game in hand on ninth place Columbus (31 points) and 10th place Colorado (30 points). This weekend the Wizards are away to New York while Chicago is away to D.C. United, Columbus is away to New England and Colorado plays Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, meaning that the Galaxy could gain three points on all four clubs heading into the final week of the season.

GAME WINNING GAVIN: Galaxy forward Gavin Glinton again provided the late-game heroics in Houston on Sunday, scoring the game-winning goal in the 77th minute to give LA a 2-1 win at Robertson Stadium. That goal made Glinton the first Galaxy player this season to record more than one game-winning goal this season. During the Galaxy's current five-game unbeaten streak, Glinton has scored three times, with all three coming in the final 15 minutes of the game and all gave LA a one goal advantage.

DOUBLE FIGURES FOR DONOVAN: With two assists against Houston on Sunday, Galaxy forward Landon Donovan set a new career-high by recording his 10th and 11th assists of the season. The 25-year old tied his career-best, which was set in 2001 and matched in 2004 and 2005, by setting up Carlos Pavon's first half goal. He then set a new career-high with his 11th assist late in the game when he helped to set up Gavin Glinton's game-winner. Donovan is the first Galaxy player to record more than 10 assists in a single season since 2002 when Cobi Jones tied his career-high with 13 assists.
