Weekly update: Hanging by a thread

COLUMBUS, Ohio - With just three games remaining on the year The Crew must win its final three games and hope for some help to make the 2006 MLS Cup Playoffs.

Two points earned by Kansas City and/or four gained by New York over their last three games will also eliminate The Crew from playoff contention. The Crew has 27 points, while New York sits in fifth in the East with 32 points and Kansas City fourth with 34. Columbus lost the season series to both K.C. and N.Y and would lose any tiebreaker if ending the year tied in points with either team. The top four teams in each conference make the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Columbus faces FC Dallas on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Crew Stadium in the final home game of the season. Dallas is 15-10-4 (49 pts) and in first place in the West.

The game can be heard in English on The Brew @ 105.7 or in Spanish on Radio Sol, AM-1550. Both the English and Spanish radio broadcasts can also be heard on-line at TheCrew.com.
