RSL Heads to Nation's Capitol Saturday for Return Match against D.C. United

Real Salt Lake (1-2-1, 4 pts.) will close out its brief 2008 season series against D.C. United (1-3-0, 3 pts.) this Saturday, April 26, when Utah's side will head to RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., for a 5:30 p.m. MT kick-off against the defending MLS Supporters Shield holders. Fans across Utah can follow the action live via RSL's radio partners KALL 700 Sports (RSL First Kick beginning at 4:30 p.m.) and Ke Buena 1600 AM and through the MLS Direct Kick (DirecTV, DishNet & InDemand) and MLSLIVE.tv (internet) pay-per-view packages, with KSL-5 TV beginning their tape-delay broadcast beginning at 6:30 p.m., to be followed by a half hour post-game show.

While D.C. United is the most successful team in League history, they also happen to be the team Real Salt Lake has seen its most success against, with the Utah side racking up a 3-3-1 record against the "Black-and-Red." The last match-up on April 12 marked an historic victory for Real Salt Lake, which set the club record for largest margin of victory in its 4-0 triumph at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Despite the .500 record against United, all of RSL's good results have come in the comfort of Rice-Eccles Stadium, as the Utah side is still winless in three attempts (0-2-1) at RFK Stadium, the lone point coming via a 1-1 draw on Sept. 9, 2006. Real Salt Lake started off well in last year's meeting in the District, but a late goal by Christian Gomez in the 73rd minute lifted D.C. to a 2-1 victory on Sept. 12, 2007.

RSL Rewind: RSL Falls 1-0 on the Road at Toronto FC

Real Salt Lake lived a tale of two halves last Saturday at Toronto FC, but the visitors fell behind during a sluggish first half and couldn't find the equalizer, resulting in a 1-0 defeat in the Canadian club's 2008 home opener at BMO Field. Toronto MF Laurent Robert's free kick goal put Real Salt Lake down 31 minutes in, but despite a more coordinated effort in the second half, during which RSL outshot the Reds 8-4, the Utahns failed to get the goal back, leading to RSL's second road defeat in as many tries to begin the 2008 campaign.
