ROOKIE DF FORKO AND GEN. ADIDAS MF JIMENEZ SEE FIRST MLS ACTION IN CAREERS:
Liberia native and rookie DF Willis Forko saw the first action in his MLS career starting and playing 72 minutes in the 0-2 loss to the Columbus Crew on May 6, 2006 as a game-time replacement for the injured Costa Rican DF Danny Torres. Prior to the Columbus match, Torres had started and played every minute of the 2006 MLS season at the left fullback position for RSL. Generation adidas MF Christian Jimenez also played in the first MLS game of his career as a late offensive substitution in the 84th minute for DF Carey Talley.

RSL RESERVES NOTCH THIRD CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUT WITH 2-0 WIN OVER CREW:

The Real Salt Lake reserves (3-0-1, 10 pts.) continued their pacesetting form in the MLS Reserve Division, logging their 3rd consecutive shutout in a 2-0 victory over the Columbus Crew reserves (0-3-0, 0 pts.). MF Andy Williams scored in the first half, while FW Jamie Watson scored in the second half to extend the RSL reserves unbeaten streak in 2006 to four.

Real Salt Lake once again raced to an early lead in the 6th minute when DF Nik Besagno began the sequence by playing a ball over the Crew midfield wide right to DF Chris Brown, who then drove a long cross to MF Joey Worthen on the left edge of the box who controlled the pass one-touch to Williams who finished the opportunity for the early 1-0 advantage. In the 37th minute, DF Kevin Novak came close to doubling the lead with a driven shot that caught the goalkeeper standing, but bounced off the crossbar and out of bounds.

Just five minutes in to the second half, Novak played a ball in to substitute Jamie Watson at the top of the box. Watson controlled the ball, spun to his left to evade the Crew defender and bent a shot with the outside portion of his right foot off the underside of the crossbar and into the Crew net for the 2-0 lead in the 50th minute, one which would hold for the remainder of the game.
