    A Building Head Of Steam
The Kansas City Wizards will be hoping to ride their building momentum this weekend when they host the Chicago Fire for the second time this season at Arrowhead Stadium Saturday, June 17th. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Since losing three-straight to end the month of May, the Wizards have gone unbeaten in their last two matches after last weekend's exhilarating 1-0 win at Columbus. Kansas City first met Chicago in week six this season, drawing 1-1 with the Fire on a goal by Wizard Eddie Johnson who made his World Cup debut this week. That May 6th match in Arrowhead also featured a pair of penalty kicks, one for each team, not necessarily noteworthy except that both goalkeepers successfully stopped both attempts. Kansas City currently owns sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference with 17 points, eight points shy of first place D.C. United and six points ahead of the fifth-place Fire. Chicago is returning to the road this weekend after playing just its first home game of the season last week, a 3-3 draw vs. the New England Revolution. The Wizards appear to be returning to the form that allowed them to open the year 4-1-0, dominating the Crew last weekend, outshooting Columbus 18-9 in picking up their fifth win of the season.

Wizards' Official adidas World Cup Watch Parties

Nearly 500 fans showed up Monday morning at the Arrowhead Pavilion for the first of the Wizards Official adidas World Cup Watch Parties to watch the United States take on the Czech Republic. Although the result vs. the Czech Republic was not necessarily what most of the fans in attendance wanted it was a festive and exciting environment. Fans will be able to gather at Arrowhead for every single one of the U.S.'s World Cup matches at the FIFA World Cup and join with each other in cheering on Kansas City's Jimmy Conrad, Eddie Johnson, and Josh Wolff, and the rest of their U.S. World Cup Team teammates. Both Johnson and Wolff entered Monday's match in the second half, marking Johnson's World Cup debut and Wolff's second consecutive Cup in which he has earned a cap. Conrad was warming up in the second half but U.S. head coach Bruce Arena elected not to insert the 2005 MLS Defender of the Year. Fazoli's Restaurant proved to be a hit at Monday's event, offering greats deals on food that started out as low as $5 for a complete meal. Next up for the U.S. is Italy on Saturday, June 17th at 2:00 p.m. CT, and Ghana on Thursday, May 22nd at 8:55 a.m. CT. The Wizards will be hosting this Saturday's watch party at the Arrowhead Practice Facility and then return to the Arrowhead Pavilion for the U.S./Ghana match on the 22nd. The Wizards will continue to host their Official adidas World Cup Watch Parties for each U.S. game should they advance in the Cup. Be sure to visit www.kcwizards.com
