SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake (0-0-0, 0 pts., T-4th West) continues its 2006 season on the road this weekend as it faces FC Dallas (1-0-0, 3 pts., T-1st West) at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas kicks off on Saturday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. MT, live on KSL 5 TV. RSL returns home the following week for its home opener against the New York Red Bulls at Rice-Eccles Stadium on the University of Utah campus on Saturday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. MT.


RSL played its 2006 season opener against CD Chivas USA (1-0-0, 3 pts., T-1st West), finishing in a 3-0 loss at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Chivas USA newcomer FW Ante Razov tallied two goals while FW Juan Pablo Garcia added the third. Real had two shots on goal from its Jamaican connection FW Jeff Cunningham and MF Andy Williams, who also led the team in shots (13). GK Scott Garlick was busy throughout the match making five saves.

RSL RESERVES TIE CHIVAS USA RESERVES 2-2:
The Real Salt Lake reserves (0-0-1, 1 pts.) tied its first match of the season 2-2 against the Chivas USA reserves (0-0-1, 1 pts.) at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. RSL's two goals were notched by FW Ryan Johnson and MF Kevin Novak, while FW Drew Helm and DF Ezra Hendrickson tallied the two goals for Chivas USA.

The game was fast-paced from beginning to end with RSL setting the pace right away. Real did not waste any time getting on the scoreboard tallying the game's first goal in the first minute. Johnson collected a pass from Salt Lake City native MF Joey Worthen to score his first reserve goal.


In the 12th minute, Chivas USA tied the score on a well executed play by MF Mike Mu&#xF1;oz and MF Brent Whitfield that ended on a goal by Helm. Just two minutes later, Chivas scored again on a corner kick by MF Rodrigo L&#xF3;pez headed on target by Hendrickson. The teams battled, with plenty of scoring opportunities, throughout the remainder of the first half. </p>


At the beginning of the second half, with the rain pouring down, the opportunities for RSL began to increase. RSL tied the game after a throw-in by Johnson was headed on goal by Novak in the 83rd minute to end the match 2-2.</p>

GARLICK ON 1280 THE ZONE EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 2:30 P.M. MT:
RSL GK Scott Garlick begins his weekly show with Ryan Hatch and David Fox on "Hatch and Hollywood" at 2:30 p.m. MT on Wednesday, April 5. Garlick joined RSL, along with MF Carey Talley, on November 22, 2005 in exchange for a portion of an allocation with FC Dallas. He played his first match in a regular season game for RSL on Sunday in the 3-0 loss to Chivas USA. The Phoenix, Arizona native spent each of the past two seasons in Dallas, appearing in 40 regular season games and starting each of the Hoops postseason matches against Colorado this season.

JOHNSON CALLED INTO JAMAICAN NATIONAL TEAM CAMP: RSL MF Ryan Johnson has been called into the Jamaican National Team camp for its match against the U.S. Men's National Team at the SAS Soccer Complex in Cary, N.C. on Tuesday, April 11 at 5:00 p.m. MT, live on ESPN2. Johnson was RSL's second selection in the third round (26th overall) in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft on January 20. He played 17 minutes in RSL's 3-0 loss to Chivas USA on Sunday. At Oregon State University, he earned All-Pac-10 honors in each of his four seasons. Johnson owns the Beaver's career (30) and single-season (13) assist records. He finished third in total points (66) and tied for seventh in goals (18). Johnson appeared in 76 games, tied for the school record with former Oregon State teammate Matt Johnson.


REAL ELITE TRAINING PROGRAM: The Real Elite Training Program is a progressive summer training program for boys and girls ages 8-16 with previous playing experience and a strong desire to reach their maximum potential. There are a total of 18 sessions, three days a week, and two and a half hours per day. SINGLE-GAME TICKETS FOR ENTIRE SCHEDULE ON SALE: RSL single-game tickets for the entire 2006 season schedule are officially on sale at the University of Utah Ticket Office, located at the Stadium's south end. Previously single-game tickets were put on sale only for the RSL home opener against the MetroStars on Saturday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. RSL single-game tickets prices for the 2006 season are $16 for north goal, $20 for corner flag, $27 for premier east and $32 for VIP west. Beginning in March, KFC's 35 restaurants in Utah will be the exclusive sponsor and distributor of $12 tickets in Sections E40 and E41, which will now be known as the KFC Colonel's Corner. 2006 RSL SEASON, HALF SEASON AND FLEX TICKET PACKAGES ON SALE: The RSL 2006 season ticket package features 20 games, including all 16 MLS regular season games and four special bonus games. Real Salt Lake's season ticket pricing remains level with the 2005 prices, and consists of Youth (15 and younger) and Adult in five price levels. Prices for the 2006 season ticket packages are $200 adult ($180 youth) for the North Goal, $300 adult ($240 youth) for the Corner Flag, $400 ($320 youth) for East Sideline, $500 ($400 youth) for VIP and $1,000 ($1,000 youth) Club seats.


The 2006 half season plan features 10 games (to be announced once the MLS 2006 schedule is announced), including nine MLS regular-season games and one special bonus game. Real Salt Lake's mini-plan ticket pricing consists of Youth (15 and younger) and Adult in four price levels. Prices for the 2005 mini-plan season ticket packages are $130 adult ($110 youth) for the North Goal, $180 adult ($150) for the Corner Flag, $220 adult ($180 youth) for East Sideline and $300 adult ($230 youth) for VIP seats.


To add more options for fans, RSL is also offering the flex season ticket package, which is comprised of twenty vouchers of the same price category (North Goal, Corner Flag, Premium and VIP) that allows the purchaser to determine which games they would like to see in the regular reason and how many tickets needed for that game. Prices for the 2005 Flex Package are $280 for the North Goal, $340 for the Corner Flag, $440 for the East Sideline and $560 for the VIP seats. Tickets can be redeemed in the following way: one could use all the vouchers and bring 20 people to one game or 4 people could attend five games. Flex vouchers are discounted from the day of game pricing making it an even greater value.
