Sasha Victorine, Kevin Hartman Take Home Wizards Soccer Tennis Honors
After an hour of intense competition at training last Thursday, Wizards midfielder Sasha Victorine and goalkeeper Kevin Hartman took home the victory in the team's ongoing soccer-tennis tournament. Dedicated Wizards fans may remember that former champions Wizards Head Coach Curt Onalfo and Assistant Coach Chris Henderson took the title during spring training in Argentina. However, the coaches were in a different pool this time and did not make it to the championship round.

"The irony of our championship was that we didn't even have to face former champs Curt Onalfo and Chris Henderson," Hartman said. "I don't know if their game has fallen off in the last few months or if they were having an internal dispute within the team, but the fact of the matter is they did not make it to the championship game this time."

Hartman and Victorine battled through five rounds of competition, including an especially intense match against midfielders Davy Arnaud and Kerry Zavagnin.

"To be honest, the only match in which we gave up a lot of points was in the semi-final to Kerry (Zavagnin) and Davy (Arnaud)," Hartman said. "However, I would like to report a soccer injury. Sasha ran into the net and came up with a limp. Meanwhile, I headed the ball much more than usual, and sustained a bruised forehead. My bye weekend was spent icing my forehead and visiting our trainer Chet North every day. It was worth the victory, but the consequences of winning were not easy to deal with."
