Weekly update: Dynamo times two

BUSY WEEK FOR GALAXY FEATURING A DYNAMO DOUBLEHEADER:
The Los Angeles Galaxy host the Houston Dynamo two times this week at The Home Depot Center in two key matches. The Galaxy and Dynamo square off in the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. The match will serve as Bonus Game D for Galaxy full season ticket holders. Tickets are now available for sale by calling the Galaxy toll-free at 1-877-3GALAXY (1-877-342-5299). The Galaxy then play the Dynamo again on Sunday, Sept. 10 in a key Western Conference match-up at 5:00 p.m. at The Home Depot Center, presented by Tide. The game will be broadcast live on FSN West and on CA$H 1700 AM (English) and KMXE 830 AM (Spanish).

GALAXY TO CELEBRATE BRAZIL NIGHT ON SEPTEMBER 10: The Galaxy will celebrate Brazil Night on Sunday, Sept. 10 when the Galaxy hosts the Houston Dynamo at 5:00 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. There will be Brazilian themed vendors as well as a pre-game concert and samba dancers before, during and after the game. Galaxy fans will also witness Brazilian jujitsu and Capoeira demonstrations.


GALAXY FANS TO GET A KICK AND A SQUEEZE ON SEPTEMBER 16: On Saturday, Sept. 16 when the Galax host the Colorado Rapids, presented by Gatorade, the first 10,000 youth fans (ages 16 and under) will receive a soccer ball presented by 830 AM. The first 5,000 fans will receive Gatorade squeeze water bottles. LALAS AT THE FAIR: Galaxy President & General Manager Alexi Lalas will be at the Los Angeles County Fair on Sunday, Sept. 10 on L.A. County Day. Lalas will be at Thunder Alley at the fair, beginning at 10:00 a.m. signing autographs. At 12:00 p.m., Lalas will join L.A. County employees and local dignitaries for the Los Angeles County Day parade. Galaxy Deportivo, hosted by Los Angeles area personality Elmer Polanco, can be seen at the same time each and every Saturday on Channel 22.


GORDON STRIKES FOR TWO: Galaxy forward Alan Gordon registered two goals on Sept. 2 against Kansas City. It was the second straight game that Gordon scored and the first time in his MLS career that he has had a multi-goal game.


Did you know ... The Galaxy has trailed in six of the 15 matches the team has played since head coach Frank Yallop took over the club on June 7.
