Weekly update: A Carolina win, again

HOUSTON, TX - Houston Dynamo continued its pre-season play today, defeating Coastal Carolina University, 2-1, at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina.


Marcus Storey and Chris Wondolowski scored for Houston in a shortened game in which Dynamo used mostly reserves. The team is now 2-0 during its East Coast swing, 4-3 overall, after also defeating the Charleston Battery, 1-0, on Saturday, March 18.


Houston Dynamo will practice every day this week, at 10 a.m., at a field adjacent to Blackbaud Stadium, with the exception of Thursday, March 23. The team will return to Houston on Sunday, March 26, where they will continue practicing toward opening day, at the University of Houston's Carl Lewis Track Field.


EDDIE ROBINSON SIDELINED TEMPORARILY
Houston Dynamo Midfielder/Defender Eddie Robinson injured himself in the game against the Charleston Battery, suffering a partial tear in a ligament in his right leg. Robinson will submit himself to MRI tests this Tuesday, March 21, to determine the severity of the tear. It is unknown at this time for how long he will be unable to play.


THIS WEEK WITH GLENN DAVIS
This Wednesday's Soccer Hour with Glenn Davis on ESPN 790 AM radio at 9 PM (CT) will have interviews with team president Oliver Luck and Head Coach Dominic Kinnear. Also Josh Gardner of the LA Galaxy and Salman Mitha from Germany will be on hand.


Throughout the season, and every Monday, Davis will be hosting the Dynamo Power Hour starting on Monday, March 27, at 7:00 PM (CT) on ESPN 790 AM.

CHING SHINES ONCE AGAIN FOR TEAM USA
Houston Dynamo forward Brian Ching will be playing once more for Team USA this Wednesday, March 22, as it faces off against Germany at Westfalenstadion, in Dortmund. Last week, the men's team jumped to fifth place in FIFA's World Ranking, its highest-ever position. Ching will be returning to the U.S. on Wednesday, May 23, to join his teammates in Charleston, South Carolina.
