RSL Rewind: Rapids Take First Rocky Mountain Cup Meeting
It was a stalemate for just over 70 minutes, but the Colorado Rapids broke through for two goals four minutes apart midway through the second half Monday night at Rice-Eccles to down Real Salt Lake 2-0 in the first of four Rocky Mountain Cup meetings between the rivals during the 2007 regular season. Defensive miscues allowed Rapids FW Roberto Brown and MF Kyle Beckerman to move the scoreboard in the 71st and 75th minutes, respectively, to lead the visiting Rapids to the victory and a share of first place atop the Western Conference standings.
