ARMAS TO ANNOUNCE RETIREMENT TUESDAY

After 10 years of service to the Chicago Fire and 12 full seasons in Major League Soccer, midfielder and captain Chris Armas will officially announce his retirement on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 11:00 a.m. CT in a news conference at TOYOTA PARK. The 35-year-old MLS "original" and former U.S. Men's National team member will be joined by Fire President/CEO John Guppy, and Head Coach Juan Carlos Osorio. The New York native finishes his career tied eighth overall in league games played (264), sixth in games started (260), and sixth in minutes played (23,027). He also represented the United States with 66 appearances, scoring two goals during his national team career (1998-2005).

Chicago Fire Soccer has announced its Eighth Annual Boys High School Soccer All-State All-Academic Team. This year's top All-Academic team of 23 student-athletes will be honored at the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association All-State Banquet held on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. CT at the Diplomat West, located at 681 W. North Ave. in Elmhurst, IL. Registration at this year's event begins at 5:00 p.m. CT.
