CHICAGO FIRE @ NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION

The Chicago Fire (3-1-1, 10 pts.) take to the road to play their second of three regular season meetings against the New England Revolution (3-2-1, 10 pts.) on Saturday, May 3, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Kickoff for the match set for 6:30 p.m. CT. The Fire are fresh off a 2-1 home win over Colorado while the Revolution won 1-0 at FC Dallas last Thursday. Saturday's game will be televised by My50 Chicago and can be heard on Chicagoland radio station WRTO 1200-AM in Spanish.


The Fire are even in all-time series with the Revolution with a 13-13-6 mark, which includes an 5-9-1 record in games played in New England. Chicago is 5-2-1 in its last eight regular season games against the Revolution, including a 4-0 win in their last meeting on 4/03/08 at TOYOTA PARK in the Fire's 2008 home opener.


CHICAGO FIRE SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES CONTINUE

The Chicago Fire School Assembly program, sponsored by Walgreens, continues this week. Midfielders Peter Lowry and Logan Pause will be at the John Spry Community School, located at 2400 S. Marshall Blvd. in Chicago, Illinois from 1:30 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 29.


FIRE ACADEMY WIN BOTH VS. CLEARWATER, SPLIT IMG ACADEMIES RESULTS

The Chicago Fire Academy U-16 team beat the Clearwater Chargers 3-1 courtesy of a goal from Bryan Ciesiulka (19'), and two from Marco Gutierrez (25', 26'). The U-18 team saw a pair of goals from Mark Roos (20', 45') guide the Fire Academy for a 2-0 win over Clearwater, holding the Chargers to no shots on goal. On Sunday, a goal from Gutierrez (71') was not enough for the U-16 team as they fell 3-1 to the IMG Academies, while the U-18's beat IMG 3-2 as Ian Christianson (26'), Aaron Brynteson (57'), and Al Palar (81') tallied in the win.


TWO ACADEMY PLAYERS WITH U.S. U-17 TEAM IN BRADENTION

Fire Academy U-16 goalkeeper Charles Lyon (St. Charles, Ill.) and U-16 midfielder Victor Pineda (Bolingbrook, Ill.) began training with the U.S. U-17 Men's National Team on Thursday, April 24, in Bradenton, Fla. and will return to Chicago on Wednesday, April 30.


CHICAGO FIRE PREMIER TEAMS START 2008 SEASON

The first match for the Chicago Fire PDL will be on Thursday, May 15 at 6:00 p.m. CT on the TOYOTA PARK Practice Field against the Indiana Invaders. That match will be both a USL league match and a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying match. The Chicago Fire Super-20 team will begin play on Friday, May 23 in Kalamazoo against the Kalamazoo Outrage, with kickoff set at 4:30 p.m. CT.


CHICAGO FIRE JUNIORS MERGE WITH MAGIC TO FORM U-19 SQUAD

The Chicago Fire announced that the Fire Juniors, the official youth club of the Fire, and the Chicago Magic, one of the top youth clubs in the country, have joined forces at the U-19 age group for the upcoming spring and summer seasons. Under the agreement, the combined team will enter various competitions, including the Illinois State Cup, under the Fire Juniors name. The new Fire Juniors U-19 team will be coached by CFJ and Fire Premier Technical Director Larry Sunderland.
