The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF), together with Soccer United Marketing, today announced two venue changes for InterLiga 2008. The doubleheader to be played on Thursday, January 3, 2008 will now be held at Robertson Stadium in Houston, Texas. Also, the doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday, January 8 will now be played at The Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, California. Both dates were tentatively scheduled for the Bay Area.
Group A will now open in Houston with a doubleheader in Robertson Stadium on January 3, the site of the first matchday of InterLiga 2007. The night begins with a match between Toluca and Atlas at 7:00 p.m., local time before concluding with a marquee matchup between América and Morelia at 9:30 p.m. InterLiga action will remain in Houston on Saturday, January 5 with a Group B doubleheader. The doubleheader begins at 7:00 p.m. with a matchup between Cruz Azul and Monterrey, followed by San Luis and Pumas at 21:30, two newcomers to the tournament.
The Group B doubleheader on January 8 will now move to The Home Depot Center. The doubleheader on Tuesday, January 8 begins at 6 p.m., local time, with a match between Monterrey and San Luis before wrapping up with a clash between Mexico City rivals Pumas and Cruz at 8:15 p.m. The Home Depot Center will also host a Group A doubleheader the following day on Wednesday, January 9 as well as the finals on Saturday, January 12.
