USA learn Copa America opponents

Bob Bradley

the national team championship of North and Central America and the Caribbean -- is his primary target. Doing so would send the USA to the Confederations Cup in South Africa in 2009.

"I believe that the two teams will be somewhat different, but we are hopeful that we will be able to, in some cases, have players for both events," Bradley said.

"The Gold Cup is still the most important event for us. Obviously, it's our confederation championship, but the main reason that I think it's extra important is because winning the Gold Cup will earn us three very good games in South Africa in 2009," he added. "Moving forward, the opportunity to try to play in order to get those kinds of games is very important."

The last time the United States took part in Copa America was in 1995. That year, the USA upset Argentina 3-0 to reach the quarterfinals, where they defeated Mexico before ultimately finishing in fourth place.
