U.S. hosts Mexico at Reliant Stadium

Landon Donovan will look to lead the U.S. to another victory against Mexico on February 6 at Reliant Stadium.

North America's greatest soccer rivalry is set to be renewed when the United States face Mexico in Houston on February 6.

The match will form part of preparations as both teams warm up for their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaigns.

The game will be played at Reliant Stadium, which drew a sell-out crowd of 69,582 last time the two teams met there in May 2003.

Four of the last five encounters between the two teams played on US soil have been sell-outs. It may be an exhibition game, but meetings between these two can rarely be described as friendly.

"Mexico is always a challenging opponent, and we all know this is a game that motivates everyone involved," said US head coach Bob Bradley.

"The first half of 2008 is very important to our team as we prepare for the beginning of World Cup qualifying in June, and the match against against Mexico will be an important part of that process."

In an arrangement unique for this game, U.S. Soccer has divided the seating into U.S.A., Mexico, and mixed/neutral fan sections at each price level. Tickets ranging in price levels from $35 to $165 and special edition U.S. Soccer on-field seats for $275 go on sale to the public Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. CT through ussoccer.com, by phone at 713-629-3700, at all Houston area Ticketmaster ticket centers (including Fiesta stores, Macy's, Wherehouse Music, FYE, and select HEB stores), and at the Reliant Stadium south ticket office (open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

The United States have an 8-0-1 record at home against Mexico since 2000. Mexico have failed to score a goal in six exhibition matches on US soil since the turn of the century.

The last meeting between these two teams saw the United States claim the Gold Cup with a 2-1 win at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The United States conclude their 2007 schedule with an exhibition game against South Africa in Johannesburg on Saturday. Prior to the Mexico game, they are due to face Sweden in Carson, California on January 19.
