U.S. call-up is Ralston's reward

"I'm guessing his versatility will help him," Nicol said. "The fact that he can play at fullback, out wide, and up the middle will only help him. He's comfortable wherever you play him. In a tournament like that with injuries and suspensions, it is helpful."


Ralston said he expects to get an opportunity because of those injuries and suspensions. And when he does, the veteran intends to maintain his domestic form on the international level.


"When I was 26 or 27, I knew I had a chance to play at the next World Cup," Ralston said. "When the next one comes around, I'll be 36 or 37. I know that I might not be around for the next one, but I want to get in to the team and play the best that I can and see what happens."
