"I am delighted that we have been given the opportunity to partner with such a prestigious MLS team - D.C. United," said Louise Waxler, founder of Kicks Against Breast Cancer. "The ability to raise awareness about the risks of breast cancer to our college athletes and young soccer players is our ultimate goal. Our partnership with D.C. United provides us with the opportunity to spread the word and to help make a difference in saving the lives of those we love."

Kicks Against Breast Cancer is an annual intercollegiate soccer tournament held each April in honor and memory of Claudia Mayer, who died in 1996 after a two-year battle with breast cancer.

Approximately 50% of each hat sale will be donated to the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource & Image Center, Howard County General Hospital, a division of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center is a leading edge wellness model focused on helping women living with breast cancer and breast cancer survivors cope with the psychological and physical side effects of this disease, including post-mastectomy scarring and prosthetics, hair loss, edema, exhaustion and other physical issues. Founded in 1998, the center always welcomes gifts and donations from individuals, corporations and other organizations.
