United Drives to collect coats, clothes during October

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United announced today plans to collect coats and clothes throughout the month of October to benefit The Children's Center of Ward 8 and Goodwill of Greater Washington. Fans who donate will receive a "Buy One, Get One Free" ticket voucher for any 2006 D.C. United regular season home game and a D.C. United promotional item. Items will be collected at United's three October home games - Oct. 7 v. the New England Revolution and Oct. 15 v. the Chicago Fire, as well as the team's home playoff game on Sunday, Oct. 29 (opponent TBD).

"We offer a heartfelt thanks to the many fans who have donated to United Drives this year," said United Sr. Vice president Stephen Zack. "Being that this is the last collection of the year, we hope everyone will give generously, as the coats and clothes collected will benefit two great organizations."

United Drives donations are accepted at every D.C. United home game at RFK Stadium. The collection bin is location outside Gate A and is open from two hours prior to the game until 15 minutes after kick-off. Donations are also accepted in the D.C. United offices, located on the fourth floor at RFK Stadium's Gate A. This season marks the sixth year of the United Drives campaign, which collects a different item each month to benefit D.C.-area non-profit organizations.
