United Drives to collect clothes

Washington, D.C. - D.C. United announced today plans to collect winter clothes and blankets during the month of October as a part of the United Drives program. Donations this month are to be delivered to the Goodwill of Greater Washington D.C. and DC Village. Fans providing an item will receive a 'Buy One, Get One Free' ticket voucher, valid for any remaining 2007 D.C. United regular season home game and a D.C. United promotional item. United for D.C. will be collecting donations prior to this Saturday's game against Chicago Fire (7:30 p.m. ET) and the final home game on Oct. 20 against Columbus Crew (7:30 p.m. ET).

"With the help of our great supporters, United Drives continues to allow us to assist those in need through a variety of ways," said United Manager of Community Relations Aprile Pritchet. "This season alone, we've been able to provide soccer equipment, canned food, toiletries, toys, school supplies and, now, winter accessories to a host of worthy organizations dedicated to public service."

United Drives donations are accepted at every D.C. United Major League Soccer regular season home game at RFK Stadium. The collection bin is located outside Gate A and is open from two hours prior to the game until 15 minutes after kick-off. Donations are also accepted in the D.C. United offices, located on the fourth floor at RFK Stadium's Gate A. This season marks the seventh year of the United Drives campaign, which collects a different item each month to benefit D.C.-area non-profit organizations.</p>
