United announce opening games for 2007 season

Peter Nowak and D.C. United will travel to Colorado for their first game of 2007.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United announced today plans for the team to open its twelfth season of Major League Soccer with a trip to Colorado to take on the Rapids on Saturday, April 7. Kick-off for that match is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. The four-time MLS Cup champions will return to RFK Stadium to host the Kansas City Wizards in its home opener, set for Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET. D.C. "D.C. United is already hard at work in advance of the 2007 MLS season," said United Sr. Vice President Stephen Zack. "It's never too early to make plans to be in attendance when the Black-and-Red take the field. We invite fans old and new, alike, to join us at RFK Stadium throughout the coming year."


Tickets to the home opener on April 14 are currently available as a part of all ticket packages - full season, half season and flex ticket plans. Upscale seating, including club section, private and semi-private boxes and field level seating, is also available, and includes many premium services such as meal service, complimentary parking and special VIP access. Youth discounted pricing remains an option for United full season, half season and flex ticket packages.


Tickets for the home opener will also be available via D.C. United's Holiday Pack. Included in the Holiday Pack are four tickets to the Opening Day match against Kansas City at RFK Stadium as well as an embroidered D.C. United polar fleece blanket. The deadline for placing Holiday Pack orders is Friday, December 15.


D.C United will also be participating in next year's CONCACAF Champions' Cup as well, where they will take on Honduran side CD Olimpia in the quarter-final round. The Black-and-Red will travel to Honduras for the first leg of the tie, set for Feb. 20-22. United will then return to RFK for the decisive home leg, likely to be held either Feb. 28 or March 1.
